This bull has taken the best of what both sides of the pedigree have to offer. The bottom side features one of the more dominant maternal grand sires in recent times in Startmore Rudolph. AltaJayz daughters have that length of mid section, soft shallow udders and great cell count that we associate with Rudolph.

 On the top side of the pedigree perhaps Juror’s best uddered son in Bosside Ruben. Quality to the udder is certainly one of AltaJayz greatest strength’s. With many of the 12 daughters inspected showing no wear for young cows producing 50-60 litres daily.  Their fore udders and rear udders show great capacity whilst still maintaining strength of attachment.

Surprisingly enough the AltaJayz have plenty of power and substance considering his pedigree. The influence of the Ned Boy in Oscar 2 generations back may explain this. They are very long of their body but do also possess enough width from head to tail and a lot taller than what you would expect for an AltaBoss son.

AltaJayz is a bull who daughters on average are probably level from hip to pin on side profile. Therefore the preferred mating is on those cows that do have that desirable slope.

The development from 1st to 2nd lactation in AltaJayz daughters was ideal. Their rear udders became more capacious and they became deeper of the rear rib. If you are looking for cows that have enough production and exhibit that youthfulness that we sometimes to desire then don’t go past AltaJayz.
